Pushy bride at US Open begs Vera Wang to make her wedding gown

Vera Wang

One bride(zilla) took fandom to a whole new level when she spotted wedding gown-designer-to-the-stars Vera Wang at the US Open.

A source tells us the starstruck woman made a beeline for Wang, 70, as soon as she noticed the fashion icon in a neighboring VIP suite at Thursday’s semifinal match between Serena Williams and Elina Svitolina.

We’re told the fan was “desperate to persuade Vera to design a custom bridal gown” and even brought her mother in as a reinforcement to “schmooze her.”

After Wang — who was “very polite” — spoke to the bride to be for upward of half an hour, she managed to “sneak away” into the Grey Goose suite for some cocktails, the source said.

Strangely, we’re told the woman wasn’t even wearing an engagement ring — but she did have a glass of rosé in her hand.

Wang has created gowns for stars including Alicia Keys, Chelsea Clinton and Kim Kardashian when she married Kris Humphries in 2011 before infamously filing for divorce just 72 days later.

Wang has also designed non-bridal looks worn by Williams, who won Thursday’s match and will play Bianca Andreescu in the women’s final on Saturday.

Deer snags bouquet at ‘fairy tale’ Michigan wedding

SAUGATUCK, MI — Like most married couples, Morgan and Luke Mackley look back fondly on their wedding day.

But unlike most, one of the guests they were most grateful for attending the celebration wasn’t even invited.

The newlyweds from Ann Arbor were posing for post-ceremony pictures on the grounds of the The Felt Estate in Allegan County when they were approached by a friendly white-tailed deer.

First the deer checked out the couple from behind a fence. Then it climbed over the fence and began pulling individual roses from the bride’s bouquet. After a few minutes and some shocked laughter, Morgan Mackley gave up the flowers.

Laurenda Bennett, 35, of Laurenda Marie Photography, captured the “surreal” moment. She called it the cherry on top of a “fairy tale-like wedding.”

“It was crazy to see a wild animal that close and personal and have it not get scared and dart off,” Bennett said. “Instinctually, I started clicking away … I had a rush of excitement but still that natural bit of fear.”

The Mackleys, both 24 years old, were married Sunday, Sept. 1, on the grounds of The Felt Estate, 6597 138th Avenue in Laketown Township, near the Saugatuck Dunes State Park. They met at Grand Valley State University.

Before that day, the Spring Arbor and Armada natives said they had heard reports of a friendly deer in the area but never expected to encounter it on their wedding day. Other wedding guests noticed the deer roaming earlier in the day.

“We planned to do our golden-hour photos out in the field behind the mansion at the venue,” Morgan Mackley said. “As we walked that way we saw it. It was extremely friendly.”

When the deer began taking a liking to the bride’s bouquet, she said she tried to pull it away. But the deer “got a little sassy.” Knowing she had 11 bridesmaids with similar bouquets back at the tent, she let it go.

Look back on Lorraine Kelly’s wedding day as she celebrates special anniversary

Lorraine Kelly celebrated a special milestone with her husband Steve Smith on Thursday – their 27th wedding anniversary. The ITV’s Lorraine host was congratulated on air by Dr Hillary Jones, and revealed they were planning to celebrate on Thursday evening along with their pet dog Angus.

The couple married on 5 September 1992, and Lorraine has often spoken out about her big day, admitting the one thing she regrets is her choice of wedding dress. “At my wedding, it was such a small one, it was wee, it really was,” she said. “All I wanted was men in kilts and pipers. There was no real plan! It was very, very traditional. My dress… Uyuy-yuy. It was 1992 so it was kind of like a Princess Diana bouffant thing with big sleeves – oh God. We could all get in it! We could all fit in my dress. I’ve still got it.”

It appears her method has paid off, as Lorraine recently said she and Steve are closer than ever since relocating from their home in Dundee to a new smaller property in Buckinghamshire. Speaking to HELLO! about how relocating had changed her life, Lorraine explained: “It’s just normal things – we go for a pub lunch at the weekend, and on a Sunday I always had that flight back hanging over me. Like at 4pm I would have to leave and get the flight back down and it’s all of that.”

She continued: “It makes it a lot easier now, I know we have been together for 30 years, married for 25 years it’s almost like another stage in the relationship. Like getting to know each other again and spending time with people.”

It has been a big year for both Lorraine and Steve, who have recently returned from a once-in-a-lifetime holiday in India with their daughter Rosie. The TV personality is also preparing to celebrate her 60th birthday in the coming weeks, and has been ticking several experiences off her bucket list in honour of the occasion, including writing her own book, called Shine.

Bride’s Sister Wears a T-Rex Costume to Wedding: ‘I Regret Nothing

This bride certainly wasn’t a bridezilla.

When Deanna Adams told her bridal party they could wear whatever they wanted to her wedding, her sister and maid of honor, Christina Meador, surprised guests by showing up to the ceremony in an inflatable Tyrannosaurus-rex costume.

“When you’re maid of honor and told you can wear anything you choose,” Meador shared in an Aug. 10 Facebook post that has since gone viral. “I regret nothing.”

In the photo, Meader is seen wearing the enormous costume and standing next to the bridemaids and Adams as she and her new husband exchange vows.

“I remember being surprised that everyone seemed to be doing their best to avoid noticing the elephant in the room (or should I say dino) but it was hard to see in the costume,” Meader told the Daily Mail about her decision to wear the costume for the ceremony, which started out as a joke between her and her sister.
